      Remove caching of branches so we read our own writes (and others). · 17aa6ff5

      This seems questionable. Should we write and cache?
Then we'd read out own writes but not others.
Should we just cache? Then we're reading a static snapshot,
but our update procedure will break.

We can almost get transactions out of caching and reading our
own writes and renaming branches into place.
